Anne Marie Havekost, 60, of Glenwood Landing passed away at LIJ Manhasset on Oct. 23, 2015, with her family by her side, after suffering a massive stroke. She was born in Glen Cove and spent much of her life laughing with (and at) her friends and family. She had an incredible green thumb and could make annuals grow for a second year or grow plants that were only supposed to flower once, flower three times. She was a good friend, mother and sister who loved to find laughter in life. She was a very proud nana who loved to stories of the “tall baby” even to strangers in the drug store.
She is survived by her husband John “Jack,” her daughter Kristen Andriola Behar, son-in-law Dave Behar, her sisters Marcia Stubbs, Carole Sarubbe and Patricia Huners, her stepdaughter Caren Miller and grandchildren Sophia Behar and Grace, Danny and Scotty Miller. She will be sorely missed by all her friends and family. In her honor, the family asks that you take time to be kind to a stranger and make them smile.
