A Glen Cove man was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) at 5:20 a.m. on Sunday, April 24, in East Hills, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Police said a highway patrol officer observed defendant Alex R. Majano, 38, of Elm Avenue, operating a white colored 2011 Toyota Sienna eastbound on the Long Island Expressway at Exit 34. The defendant was drifting across the lanes and was unable to maintain his lane of travel several times as he exited at Exit 39. The defendant was stopped by police at the N. Service Road and Glen Cove Road, where the investigation revealed the defendant was driving while intoxicated and had three minor children under the age of 15 in the vehicle. There were no injuries reported.
The children were released to a family member. The Defendant is charged with three counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child under 15, two counts of DWI and five traffic violations. He was arraigned in Monday, April 25, in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
