Cipriano Wins Connolly Spelling Bee

Amedea Cipriano, a student at Connolly School in Glen Cove, was named the winner of the school’s fifth-grade Spelling Bee on Jan. 8.
The event was organized by teachers Nancy Cox and Dora Ricciardi and featured 10 students vying for the title of champion. According to Cox, this year’s competition was truly thrilling.
“It was one of our most exciting bees,” Cox said. “The last two students were going back and forth for several rounds before we had a winner.”
Keith Callaghan was the runner-up in the competition. Principal Rosemarie Sekelsky offered congratulations to the following students: Amedea Cipriano, Michael Adams, Anna Basil, Keith Callaghan, Josue Mejia, Andrew Glaviano, Josiah Aschalew, Ally Pascucci, Maria Alvarado and Kylie Morace.
