The School for Language and Communication Development (SLCD) is will present its 14th Annual Chefs for Children Food and Wine Tasting to be held on Wednesday, April 22, at Leonard’s of Great Neck.

This festive event features numerous restaurants offering samples of their signature dishes and dozens of raffle prizes. The event begins at 6 p.m. and admission is $90 per person. To date, the following restaurants are participating: Banfi Vintners, Ben’s Best Kosher Caterers, Cabo, Boca Kitchen and Bar, Chama Rodizio Portuguese Restaurant, Delicacies Gourmet Delicatessen & Pizza, Glen Cove Diner, Grandma’s Secret, Innis & Gunn USA, Jennifer’s Cake Designs, Jonathan’s New American, K C Gallagher’s, La Bottega Italian Gourmet, La Bussola Ristorante, Leonard’s Palazzo, Lessing’s Catering, London Lennie’s, Maison Belle Claire Rose, Matteo’s Trattoria, The Melting Pot, Mims of Roslyn, Page One Restaurant, Pampered Chef, Paradiso Ristorante and Pizzeria, Rachel’s Waterside Grill, Riccardo’s By The Bridge, Ristorante da Claudio, Uncle Bacala’s Restaurant, and The View Grill.

Proceeds from this event benefit the School for Language and Communication Development, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. SLCD, celebrating its 30th anniversary, has a mission to identify children with language and autism spectrum disorders as early as possible to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories, and messages. Language provides the foundation for socializing, reading, questioning, writing, and thinking.

SLCD reaches individuals throughout Long Island and the five boroughs through its elementary school in Glen Cove, middle school in Woodside, high school in Richmond Hill, adult day habilitation program in Syosset and adult residence in Farmingdale. SLCD is chartered through the New York State Board of Regents and approved by the New York State Education Department.
