The Guardian Angel of Sea Cliff is currently in the middle of its fourth annual “Giving Tree” event. The huge success of The Giving Tree, which brings so much joy and happiness to many families in need, has become a community tradition.
This “Miracle on Glen Cove Avenue” is located in Sea Cliff at the nonprofit Guardian Angel Family Store, at 329 Glen Cove Ave. in Sea Cliff (between Littleworth and Lafayette Avenues). Choose a card from The Giving Tree and help make a child’s holiday dream come true. Many of the children are from families who have fallen on economic hard times and they won’t be receiving any gifts this holiday season. The Giving Tree has cards filled out by these children listing a small gift they would like to receive under their tree. In the spirit of the season, community members can stop in and choose one card with a child’s name and buy that gift. This is a chance to be a Guardian Angel to a needy child. It may be one extra gift to buy, but it may be the only gift that child will receive this holiday season—imagine the joy on that child’s face when he or she opens it.
The Guardian Angel volunteers will be available to help those interested pick out a local family that would be blessed by a caring and loving gift for their child. While at the store, shoppers can peruse the festive holiday clothing—some new, others gently used—for women, babies, children and pre-teens. Items include warm jackets, coats, mittens, gloves, scarves, hats and boots, all at affordable prices. Bedding, linens, furniture and lots of baby items can also be found.
This holiday boutique is a one-stop crowd pleaser for all your winter and holidays needs. Why waste time and gas money driving to a mall? Shop locally and know that all proceeds will go directly to help women and their families in crisis situations. The Guardian Angel Family Store is open Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 516-277-1068 to donate or volunteer your time.
