On Saturday, Nov. 5, Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club hosted their 40th annual fundraising dinner dance at Nassau Country Club. The “Gilded Gala” event, co-chaired by Cindy Ketchum and Susan Moore, truly reflected the Gold Coast of Long Island during the gilded age.
Vice Chairs Kirsten Benjamin and Kelly Florio Kasouf did an outstanding job overseeing the decorating while Auction Chairs Kate Doerge, Aileen Gumprecht and Alexis McAndrew secured many wonderful and sought after items for the live and silent auction. Peter Bahr served as the event’s auctioneer.
The club’s associate director Desirae O’Neil, who was a former member herself, was the embodiment of grace and elegance as she shared her story of how the club shaped her future and the person she is today.
“The dinner dance is our premiere fundraiser and we are thankful to have such a committed group of chairs and committee members at the helm of this year’s event. They did a fabulous job in bringing the Gatsby era to life at this year’s party,” said executive director Franca Trunzo. “We are so fortunate to have Desirae O’Neill as a part of our club family. She is a remarkable young woman who is one of the finest examples of how our club and our programs positively impact our youth.”
