Golf Tournament A Success

On Monday, July 18, the 28th annual John Maccarone Hall of Fame Golf Tournament was held at the Glen Cove Golf Course. All the money raised from this tournament goes to the John Maccarone Scholarship Fund and to date approximately $150,000 has been awarded to outstanding student athletes. This year, as a result of the 2015 golf tournament revenues and the generosity of the family of the late Dr. Sidney Canarick, we awarded $7,000 in scholarships to six graduating seniors at Glen Cove High School.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the golfers who participated in the 2016 tournament, as well as the following tee sponsors for their generous support:
Leslie & George Baptista; Anthony Bozzella; John Broza Family; Cashin, Spinelli & Feretti; Cosmo Tile & Stone Corp; Dodge Thomas; Mike Famiglietti; Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana, LLP; Forest Iron Works; The Galletta Family; Mal Galletta III; Luigi Gallo; Glen Cove PBA; Glen Cove EMS; Glen Cove Girls Lacrosse; Michael B Grieco, MD; Knights of Columbus; Mayor Reggie Spinello; John and Bernadette Maccarone; The Martone Family; McLaughlin, Kramer, Meigel Funeral Home; Notaro Grupp; Pat Parmelee; Joseph Rizzo, Jr.; Taranto & Taranto; Telstar; Linda Thompson; James Tingley; Sal Travatello.

Thank you also to Hall of Fame Committee members for their work coordinating this event, especially  Jacqui Gow, Cherry Webb, Susan Canarick, Leslie Maccarone Baptista, Darcy Belyea, Pat Parmalee and Rose Pizziatolla.

The tournament would also not have been such a success without the help of the exceptional people at the Glen Cove Golf Course, especially course manager John Grella and his crew and head pro Bob Arrowood, Mal Galletta III and their accomplished staff. The hospitality of Jeanine DiMenna at the View Grill at the Glen Cove Golf Course was also top notch and greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your support of the Glen Cove Hall of Fame.
