Josette Vermot-Desroches, of Glen Cove and formerly of Locust Valley, died on March 28, at age 77. Beloved wife of the late Joseph, mother of Claudine, mother-in-law of Blake and grandmother of Emilie. She is survived by her brother Henri (wife Monique) and sisters Veronique and Madeliene (husband Vasco) as well as many nieces and nephews. If you lived in Locust Valley at some point during the past 30 years, you have probably been helped by Josette at G Willikers. She helped bring joy to generations of children, making gift baskets for birthdays and holidays and helping parents and grandparents find just the right toy for their beloved tykes. She was a beloved member of the community for more than four decades. Josette was born in Neuvecelle, Haute Savoie, France, and married to Joseph in Bermuda in 1959. She and Joseph came to New York in the early 1960s before settling in Locust Valley in the 1970s, when he became the Creek Club chef.
