The Great American Cleanup Day will be celebrated in Glen Cove on Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to noon as the city’s Beautification Commission hosts a cleanup of Mill Pond Park and a cleanup and replanting for the Glen Cove Veterans Memorial.
“Pride in our community is built upon the outstanding work of our Beautification Commission and the many volunteers who come out each year to help clean our public parks and beaches,” said Mayor Reggie Spinello.
A nationwide program sponsored by Keep America Beautiful, more than 20,000 communities participate in the program each year to keep their neighborhoods, city parks and beaches clean and beautiful. Glen Cove residents are invited to meet Beautification Commission volunteers at the Gazebo at Mill Pond (Corner of Herb Hill Road and Brewster Street) at 9 a.m. on May 14 and cleanup supplies will be provided.
