Kiwanis Visit Ronald McDonald House

The North Shore K Family joined hands once again for the annual Major Emphasis Project (MEP), held at the Ronald McDonald House on Jan. 10.

Cooking dinner was only part of this fantastic venture hosted by the NS Key Club. The residents enjoyed having some fun with the key clubbers after a long day of treatment, so the club provided arts and crafts for the children, including BooBoo Bunnies, face painting and making Valentine’s Day cards.

Members prepare dinner for residents

The Key Club members, the NS Builders Club members and the Aktion Club also prepared cards with personal warm wishes that were given out to all residents who joined the group at the dinner hours. Also, the North Shore Kiwanis Club collected toys at their annual holiday party and these toys  were distributed to all children residing at RMH during the visit. In addition to the project both clubs jointly provided financial assistance to RMH. The clubs donated a five-night stay for families in need of assistance. This gift will provide assistance for comfortable and affordable lodging for families that are far from home and keep the family unite together so children can cope and heal better.
