Little League Kicks Off Season

Join the 340-plus young baseball and softball players as they celebrate the start of the 2016 season with an opening day parade from Finley Middle School through downtown Glen Cove and ending at John Maccarone Memorial (City) Stadium on Saturday, April 16. The parade will kick off at 10 a.m.

Gold Coast Little League is a baseball and softball program for boys and girls in Glen Cove and surrounding communities currently in kindergarten through ninth grade, operating under the direction of the City of Glen Cove Parks & Recreation Department.

Once the season kicks off, in addition to “home” games at the stadium, all girls divisions and several boys teams will be participating in a cooperative league that includes teams from Bayville, Locust Valley, Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club, Oyster Bay and Sea Cliff as well.

Registration fees include a uniform (shirt, hat, pants, and socks) and team photo for each player. Financial assistance is available to any Glen Cove family in need with application through the Youth Financial Assistance and Scholarship Program, which was established by the Glen Cove Recreation Commission in 2014. The program is also supported by more than 40 local businesses, organizations and professionals who are active sponsors of the league.
