LV Jesters Perform A Hit

The Locust Valley High School auditorium stage was transformed into the Iowa State Fair grounds and the Locust Valley Jesters brought that fair to life during three musical performances of the Rodgers and Hammerstein’s State Fair.

The Locust Valley Jesters portrayed the Frake family in State Fair.

The cast sang and danced their way through three adventurous days in 1946 as the Frake family. These student thespians acted out the story as the mom and dad sought out blue ribbons and the daughter and son both found romance at the fair. The Jesters convinced audiences that the story was real and left imprints of the music in their minds following the performances.

The crew built sets that looked like true fair booths, with colorful backdrops and realistic looking carnival games. After months of long practices and preparations, the hard work paid off with performances that brought audiences to their feet with applause.
