Glen Head Elementary School culminated its reading celebration with a closing ceremony featuring an educational performance presented by the Glen Head faculty of the book Peanut Butter and Cupcakes, a banner presentation by each grade, many presentations by students and two amazing book awards.
The annual reading celebration at Glen Head, with the theme this year of “Reading Is So Delicious,” included many special events that each student will likely remember for a very long time and featured guest authors Sarah Weeks, parent visitors readings/discussions, the book fair and countless hours of intensive reading and writing by the students and faculty.
At the opening ceremony, Principal Lori Nimmo said, “Sometimes we are really hungry for the next great story, great book, great chapter. We invite students to make reading a delicious activity that they can enjoy at home—sharing their books with their loved ones and embracing some of their family’s favorites, too.
“Reading can truly be a delicious treat that we just can’t get enough of,” she added.
