The music of The Rolling Stones will be featured when The Glimmer Twins perform on week two of the 2015 Downtown Sounds Concert Series at the Village Square Plaza in Glen Cove on Friday, July 10, at 7:30 pm. This renowned tribute band has received rave reviews for their remarkable portrayals of the legendary English rockers.
As tribute bands go, The Glimmer Twins are unique. What sets them apart is their ability to capture the raw energy of the most electrifying performances of the Stones’ 50-year career. Indeed, from the moment they take the stage, audience members experience what it was like to see the historical band in its prime.
The Glimmer Twins’ tribute to the Stones begins with their appearance as lead singer Keith Call and guitarist Bernie Bollendorf bear an uncanny resemblance to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in their heyday. They also have the theatrics mastered as their animated performance rivals that of their namesakes. Finally, the music is spot on from “Start Me Up” to “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” satisfaction guaranteed.
Musically, visually and theatrically, The Glimmer Twins don’t just cover the tunes of The Rolling Stones, they live them. Portraying a group whose music has spanned generations means that their shows are a can’t-miss for every Stones fan, young and old alike.
Opening for The Glimmer Twins are local musicians Michael McCauley with The WAM Band; their classic rock will light up the night.
