“We thank the Glen Cove High School principal Antonio Santana, assistant principal Allen Hudson and staff for allowing us to participate in the Senior Awards Ceremony,” said David Hubbard, president of Alumni For Youth, Inc.

The certificates presented read, “Exhibiting excellence in academics as well as leadership qualities which made Howard Davis Sr. a champion in our community. We welcome your commitment to our community accepting responsibility and challenges going forward.”
“Howard “Johnnie” Davis Sr., who died on March 13, 2009, was a mentor, educator, positive image and community leader to the men of Alumni For Youth, Inc.,” said Hubbard. “As such, we felt honored to provide a scholarship in his name.”
The scholarship awards range from $500 to $1,000 and will be presented at an upcoming Pre-College Readiness workshop.
