Sophomore To Compete In All-Star Game

Glen Cove High School sophomore Spyro Markoulis was selected by the Nassau County Hockey League to play in the All-Star game vs. Suffolk County on April 2.

Markoulis competed in the Western New York High School Club Hockey League championships in Jamestown as a member of the Bethpage Eagles ice hockey team on March 4-5. The high school sophomore was first drafted to goal tend for the Eagles varsity team last year and has been invited to play throughout his high school career.

IceHockey_032316A“Spyro was an average goalie as a ninth-grader, but through persistence and hard work, he has proven himself worthy of being selected to an elite group of hockey players in the high school league,” said Bethpage varsity ice hockey coach Jeff Schmier. “He not only plays with Bethpage, but also plays travel hockey as well. His commitment to the game, his teammates and bettering himself is unwavering.”

Principal Antonio Santana and the entire administration at Glen Cove High School congratulate Markoulis on his outstanding athletic achievements and wish him luck when he takes the ice in the All-Star game.
