On Sunday, July 31, Morgan Park Summer Music Festival celebrates The Beatles with the renowned tribute band, Strawberry Fields. The show, which is free to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Park and is sponsored by MPSMF’s Golden Benefactors: Iris & Saul Katz Family Foundation, Leonard & Caryl Shapiro, Audrey Schein and In Memory of “Pat” Patricia Tee.
Strawberry Fields consists of top musicians who were cast members of Beatlemania, the Broadway hit show that recreated the magic of John, Paul, George and Ringo. Today these cast members, performing as Strawberry Fields, present a Beatles concert complete with the sights and sounds of the beloved Fab Four. Strawberry Fields performs a weekly Beatles Brunch at B.B. King Blues Club in New York and were selected from among the world’s top Beatles tribute acts to perform in a recreation of the legendary 1965 Beatles concert at Shea Stadium.
Head down to Morgan Park and enjoy a wonderful evening of family entertainment under the stars. Bring a blanket or chairs and picnic if you wish. Children are welcome. Morgan Park is located on Germaine Street at the end of Landing Road in Glen Cove. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, Pearsall Avenue, Glen Cove.
