Now in its sixth week of summer programming, the students enrolled in the Glen Cove After 3 summer program continue to have a wonderful time. The mornings are full with learning and excitement while the afternoons continue to provide a new experience every day. Fridays are trip days, which have so far included Old Bethpage, QZAR and the movie theater. The students have learned to cook three healthy meals/snacks and continue to impress everyone in music class with their vocal talents. Zumba and New York Cosmos Soccer camp continue to be favorites, with participants expressing their fervor on a daily basis.
On Aug. 5, Glen Cove After 3 saw a professional soccer match at Hofstra Stadium between the New York Cosmos and the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. All participants were invited to escort the players onto the field before this important match.
The North Shore Historical Museum taught the middle school students about the country’s judicial system and the Cradle of Aviation has taught the students about magnetic and solar energy. These programs and trips are possible due to the generosity of the United World Foundation and the Long Island Community Foundation.
Glen Cove After 3 summer program is available to all residents of Glen Cove in grades first through ninth.
Glen Cove After 3 is a School Aged Child Care (SACC) New York State Licensed program.
