I want to thank the residents of Glen Cove who came out and supported me on Election Day. This year was a unique situation due to the number of candidates seeking seats on the council. It was further complicated when the Democrats chose not to put up our own candidate for mayor, but alternatively decided to support the current mayor, Reggie Spinello. I know that decision made many Democrats very apprehensive. The decision was not made lightly or in haste, but rather it was based on Mayor Spinello’s willingness to listen to and work with the Democrats during his first two years as mayor. I’m looking forward to that spirit of cooperation continuing into the future.
I would like to say a special thank you to my Democratic running mates. They are all extraordinary in their own rights, not only in their dedication to the campaign, but in their commitment to Glen Cove. I hope that each of them will consider running again as it was truly an honor getting to know them on a more personal basis. I can say unequivocally that each of them has much to offer and their talents would truly be a benefit to our city.
I would also like to thank all the candidates who ran in the recent Glen Cove election. Without your willingness to run for office and make the sacrifice of time and money, democracy and choice would certainly wither and die.
I would also like to thank all those who volunteered their time and efforts during this campaign season. Without your help and dedication no campaign could ever be successful. Thank you all so much!
I realize that you, the residents, have put your trust in me to continue to represent you. I do not take that responsibility lightly. I will work hard to make sure that decisions that are made are for the prosperity of the city and its residents. I will always act against proposals I feel are not in the best interest of the city.
I thank you for the support and look forward to serving you as your councilman for the next two years. God Bless!
