Led Zeppelin music and other rock and blues standards will be featured when the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District invites Kamellot and Misty Mountain to pay tribute to classic rock at the Glen Cove Village Square Plaza on Friday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. Formed in 2012, these bands are renowned for their powerful take on the hard-driving rock that defined the ‘70s.
Kamellot is fast becoming one of the premier tribute bands in and around Long Island. The band was formed when percussionist Dr. G and lead guitarist Elliot Negrin bonded due to their mutual love of rock and R&B. When lead singer Ed Terry and sax man Wayne Wofford joined the mix, the band reached a new level and with subsequent additions of Stu Waters (keys), Shawn Murray (drums), Krista Marie (vocals) and Alan Levy (bass), the group was complete. However, one band was not enough. Negrin, Terry, Murray and Levy also formed Misty Mountain, a four-man tribute band that plays homage to Led Zeppelin across Long Island. With guitar licks reminiscent of Jimmy Page and howling vocals that bring back memories of Robert Plant, this band allows audiences to relive the days when Zeppelin ruled.
