Tree Plantings For Arbor Day

Embracing the importance of protecting our natural resources and keeping Glen Cove green, the City of Glen Cove’s Beautification Commission is hosting a special tree planting to celebrate Arbor Day. Commission members will plant four trees on Friday, April 29, at 1 p.m., at Big Ralph Park in honor of Arbor Day. The members planted three trees on Earth Day, April 22, at the site of Glen Cove’s 9/11 Memorial in Pratt Park.

The trees were donated to the city as part of Glen Cove’s Merry Tree Festival held this past holiday season.

ArborDay_042716A“Thanks to the support of local businesses and Glen Cove residents, the “living” holiday trees which created an exciting attraction for our downtown corridor during the holiday season will now be planted throughout the City to keep Glen Cove’s parks and landscapes green and vibrant,” said Mayor Reggie Spinello.
