Vikings Football Charity Game

On Saturday, Oct. 24, the North Shore HS varsity football team hosted its first annual “Pink Out” game to support the American Cancer Society. Josh Mandell, a senior lineman of North Shore High Schools, orchestrated the entire event as part of his senior internship. With the help of some of his teammates, Mandell set up the fundraiser by pre-selling North Shore Football T-shirts with a special design in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

To further raise awareness, the team all wore pink socks and the coaching staff wore purple ribbon lapel pins to honor former football coach Frank Rossi, who battled pancreatic cancer back in 2009. On top of a great cause, the Vikings defeated Valley Stream North by a score of 56-19. They began the playoffs at Bethpage High School on Sunday, Nov. 8.
