On the 100th anniversary of New York women winning the right to voice, the City of Glen Cove and The Long Island Woman Suffrage Association unveiled a new historic marker on Dosoris Lane.

Funded by the William G. Pomeroy Foundation, the marker recognizes the role of Glen Cove suffragists Helen Sherman Pratt and Florence Gibb Pratt. Joining Glen Cove Mayor Reggie Spinello, Councilwoman Pamela Panzenbeck and Antonia Petrash, author of Long Island and the Woman Suffrage Movement, were members of The Long Island Woman Suffrage Association, local government and school officials along with the great-grandchildren of Helen Sherman Pratt and Florence Gibb Pratt, whose advocacy for the women’s suffrage movement is acknowledged on the new marker.
