Baseball Team Secures Donation


The Glen Cove Storm 12U baseball team recently participated in Cooperstown All-Star Village in Cooperstown.

“The boys played some very good competition up there and never gave up, said manager AJ Congero. “We made it to the second round of the playoffs and I was very proud of the boys.”

Chairman Bruce A. Testa, on behalf of the board of directors of Glen Cove Jr. Baseball & Softball, helped to secure a $2,000 combined donation from Glen Cove Jr. Baseball & Softball and Stop & Shop of Glen Cove.

Testa expressed special thanks to store manager Sal Carnazza for his help with the funding.

“Despite our involuntary absence from the John J. Maccarone Memorial Stadium, the Glen Cove Junior Baseball and Softball Organization will continue to support the children of Glen Cove,” said Testa.
