On Aug. 24 at 11:05 p.m. Glen Cove Police arrested a man who was observed inside a vehicle on Elm Ave in Glen Cove. The man, identified as Kenneth Giambruno age 35, who formerly lived in Glen Cove was arrested and charged with attempted petit larceny. The Glen Cove Police are actively investigating the other car larcenies and have some promising leads and hope to make further arrests soon.

The Glen Cove Police Department released the following tips to deter theft: Lock your vehicles. If your vehicle is equipped with an alarm, turn it on. Try to park under a light or have it parked under a motion activated light if possible. Do not keep valuable items in plain view inside your vehicle, it just entices a thief that much more. Don’t ever keep an extra set of keys in your vehicle, and never leave your wallet containing cash and credit cards inside the vehicle.
