With the ever-evolving state of the world, our first priority is to protect the safety of the residents of our community. We have been in constant communication with the NYS Department of Transportation and FHWA and have decided that the planned Memorial Day launch of the Glen Cove commuter ferry is not a viable option in our current reality.
However, we are pleased to announce that we have confirmed an extension of the official launch, which we will plan to coincide with the timeframe of when commuters will be regularly returning to work in Manhattan. As many aspects of the world’s current health crisis change on a day-to-day basis, we will update the community as soon as we have new information. We will continue to ensure that we are fully in step with our ferry operator, Hornblower, and are able to launch the ferry with timing to best serve the community. We are all optimistic and remain excited to launch this extraordinary amenity to serve our residents in Glen Cove and all of Long Island.
Above all, we will continue to keep the health and safety of residents and commuters our top priority and we look forward to providing more updates on the timing of the ferry launch as soon as possible.
