A 22-year-old man was shot in Glen Cove on Tuesday and is currently in critical condition, according to police.
Authorities reported that on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the Glen Cove Police Department received a call regarding a shooting on Eldridge Place in Glen Cove. The Glen Cove Police responded to the call and discovered the victim on Colonial Gate (a short distance from Eldridge Place), who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
Police said it was determined that the shooting occurred inside 1 Eldridge Place in Glen Cove. After being shot inside the residence, the victim ran from the home and collapsed a short distance away, where police discovered him.
Two suspects were observed running from the house after the shooting, according to police. The victim was transported to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and is currently in critical condition.
According to Glen Cove Detective Lieutenant John Nagle, “We are considering this incident a home invasion situation where we believe the victim and shooter are known to each other.”
