The Glen Cove Hibernians would like to thank our friends and neighbors from Glen Cove and the North Shore area for their support at our 28th annual St Patrick’s Day Parade hosted and sponsored by the Glen Cove AOH and LAOH Divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Each year our parade gets bigger and better—it brings out so many people as we are all anxious for spring to arrive and we all love to celebrate St Patrick’s Day, even those who are not Irish! There is only one way this parade can continue to grow—that is with the ads taken out for our journal, raffle ticket sales and the commitment of our committee. With the funds we get we are able to pay for the bands, grand stand, insurance and to give a donation to an organization that is chosen by our grand marshal. This year, 2016 Grand Marshal Paul Long chose “Hope for Warriors.” With your help, we were able to give a check of $6,000 to help these warriors in need.
A very special thank you to: The marching participants, the hundreds of spectators for being there to cheer us on, all raffle ticket buyers, journal ad sponsors and our grand marshal Paul Long, his aides Regina and Peter Begley, John Canning, Glen Cove Mansion, Sophie McCabe, Mike Harrington, Matinecock Rod and Gun Club, Jeremy Zeineth, Casey Horton, Peter Budraitis, Eileen Cronin, Subaru, Volvo, Land Rover, Glen Cove DPW, Glen Cove Auxiliary Police, Tony Dempsey, Chairman of Wexford County Council, Glen Cove Printery, Kevin Horton, Mayor Spinello and the City Council, Carol and Page One crew, The Glen Cove Hibernian Parade Committee and of course our very own Leprechaun!
Please contact Glen Cove St. Patrick’s Day Parade Facebook page if you would like to participate next year.
Looking forward to an even bigger parade next year!
